Lost In Transit (Classic Cars West, Oakland California)

Audience members are invited to explore the interior of an A-Frame Trailer and a 1959 Volvo PV544 that have been outfitted with olfactory stations, drawers full of postcards, and walls covered in photographs and video footage of road trips. Hastings' work (and the participation it requires) reminds one that the idea of an archive is as mutable as the past it tries to capture-- always being recreated, rethought, and reimagined as new situations arise.
